ABOUT US

Built by curious minds. Driven by flight.

OAVAO started in Ames, Iowa with a small group of college students who were obsessed with how things fly, how systems talk to each other, and how much better drones could be if software, hardware, and autonomy were built together from day one.

[ HOW IT WORKS ]

Our journey from ideas to airborne systems

We didn’t start with a roadmap or a polished pitch deck. We started by building, breaking things, and learning fast.

Today, OAVAO focuses on designing drone platforms where software, product design, engineering, and autonomy are developed together. The result is systems that are smarter, more reliable, and ready for real environments — not just demos.

01.

Built Together

We design software, hardware, and autonomy as one system, not separate parts.

02.

Tested in Reality

If it doesn’t work outside, it doesn’t ship.

03.

Curious by Default

We ask questions, challenge assumptions, and keep learning.

04.

Small Team, High Standards

Fewer people, more responsibility, better work.

Hardware-First Development

Hardware-First Development

We design drones starting with the physical system — components, constraints, and real-world conditions.

Built Through Iteration

Built Through Iteration

We refine our systems through prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement.
